My cover first draft
For my first cover, I had to pictures in mind, but finally, I chose the photograph of the left because it has direct gaze, and as my magazine will be included in the 'Lifestyle' genre, for male audience, in wich both men and teenagers between 16 and 30 will be included, I've chosen this picture because it has a mix of both, as the watch gives it a more 'sophisticated' touch, but the shirt, the sunglasses and the model's age still make it look more juvenile.
After choosing the picture for the cover, I had to choose it's colour scheme & font, and this were my three main ideas, I liked the black tone because of the sunglases, shirt and the watch face, but once I had it, I realised that it didn't really stood out like I thought at first. I also chose this font, 'Dumbnerd' but after trying it out with some other fonts for the coverline, I realised that maybe it wasn't the better option, so after trying out loads of different options I finally opted to use the 'edition' font, and try it out with some coverlines, having the '25' in green, to make contrast with the model's eyes and this is how it looked:
Once at this stage, I had to thought in more ideas for the coverlines, and take inspiration of any other details from proffesional magazines, for example, having the name of the celebrity in the picture, in big bold green letters, with a white background. In relation with the colour of the model's eyes, as I've already said and the pictures of the T-shirt.
Finally I've chosen the 'edition' font, to make a contrast between ages, as the model is a teenager, and the font, looks more serious, just like the watch that the model is wearing. This also aims to more grown up men, as the magazine aims at a male audience in the 15-30 age range.
